Stephen Keith Browning, age 60, of Beckley, West Virginia, passed away at the Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, West Virginia, on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, following a long illness.
Born at Matheny, West Virginia, on September 30, 1950, he was the son of Bernice Osborne Dooley of Beckley, and the late Clair Browning.
Mr. Browning was an advertising consultant for various radio stations including those in White Sulphur Springs and Pineville, West Virginia. He was of the Protestant faith, and had made his home in Beckley since 1988.
Mr. Browning was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Browning, by a daughter, Mary Anne Browning.
Other than his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his children: Stephen Browning II of Beckley, and Valerie Lilly and her husband Brady of Coal City.
His brothers, Raymond Browning and his wife Linda of Beckley, Norman Browning and his wife Lisa of Richmond, Virginia, Nolan Browning and his wife Freda of Martinsville, Virginia; his sisters, Sharon Aliff and her husband Edsel of Madison, Carolyn Becker and her husband George of Nallen, Sandra Childers and her husband Pete of Richmond, Virginia, and Leisha Brotherton and her husband David of Ypsilanti, Michigan.
2 grandchildren, Jade Lilly and Lana Lilly, are also among his survivors.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at 4 p.m. with Rev. Boyd England officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services on Sunday.
