Iva Marie Fortner

Iva Marie Fortner, age 89, of Beckley, WV, is now with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 4, 2017.

She was born at Pluto, WV, and was daughter of the late Wriston and Callie Richmond.

Mrs. Fortner retired from the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital as an LPN. She was a member of the Beckley First Church of the Nazarene for 50 years.

Mrs. Fortner was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was the best mother and grandmother that you could ever ask for.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her children, Arthur Richmond of Hayes, Virginia, Melinda Whitlock and her husband, Tim, of Lewisburg, Howard C. Fortner, Jr. of Cool Ridge, Lynne Price of Beckley, and Matilda Fortner of Neola, WV. Sixteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild also survives.

Funeral services will be conducted at Beckley First Church of the Nazarene on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at noon with Rev. John Prichard officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church. Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
