Allie Joann Peters

Allie Joann Peters, age 80, of Cool Ridge, WV passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born on April 4, 1943 in Wilmington, Delaware, she was the daughter of the late Emory Hughes and Nannie Wiseman Hughes.

Mrs. Peters had worked as a caregiver, and was a member of the Open Door Church at Shady Spring, WV.  She enjoyed going to yard sales, and dining out at restaurants.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peters was preceded in death by three brothers, Emory Hughes, Jack Hughes and Jim Hughes.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of 58 years, Samuel Peters; four children, Joseph Peters and fiancé Teresa Marr of Woodford, Virginia, Shirley Webber, Sheri Peters, and Jimmy Peters and wife Charmaine; a daughter-in-law Angela Peters of Beckley; a brother Lonnie Hughes of Delaware; five grandchildren, Ashley Vernatter and husband Leslie of Beaver, Joey Peters and fiancé Kayla of Beckley, Amanda Day and husband Joseph of Cool Ridge, Alexi Calton-Peters of Buffalo, New York and Brooke Peters of Beckley; four great grandchildren, Gabby, Trent, Bentley and Kayleigh.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Open Door Church at Shady Spring, WV on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at noon with Pastor Don Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
