Alvetta Yvonne Chapman

Alvetta Yvonne Chapman, age 75, of Lanark, WV passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV.

Born on January 20, 1949 at Prince, WV, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Ewing and Phyllis Coffman Ewing.

Mrs. Chapman was a private sitter for the elderly, was a  former postal employee, and had owned  and operated a day care center. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her pets. She loved cooking, working with her flowers,  and had  a great love for her dogs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Chapman Jr.; a grandson, Bradford Domingues;  two sisters, Nancy Patterson and Diane Harris, and by a brother Larry Ewing.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include children, Angela Troska of Slab Fork, Crystal Domingues of Daniels, and Jason Domingues and husband Joe of Texas. Two sisters, Barbara Wood of Meadow Bridge, and Sharon Smith and husband Jim of Prince; grandchildren, Hope, Brandon, Corey, Josh, Scott, Jayleigh, and Peyton; great grandchildren, Lukas, Lincoln,  Lyndsey, Arianna Winter, Dalton, Spencer, Evelyn, Tiberius, Kash,  and Kambria. She will  be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior  to the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Family and  friends will serve as pallbearers.
