Alvia "Alvin" Carlos Jones, Jr.

Alvia "Alvin" Carlos Jones, Jr., a devoted servant of Christ, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the age of 72. He was born on January 6, 1953, to the late Alvia Carlos & Nealy Lafferty Jones and lived a life marked by faith, compassion, and unwavering love for his family and community.

Alvin was a man of strong Christian values who lived each day in service to others. His quiet strength, wisdom, and generosity touched the lives of many. Alvin exemplified the love of Christ in all he did. He served in the Army National Guard.  He was employed for 32 years at Vecellio & Grogan where he worked as a mechanic. After retirement, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and fishing.

He is survived by Penny Renee Jones his beloved wife of 43 years; his children Adam & Crystal Jones, and Jessica & Steven McKinney; his grandchildren Austin & Brianna Foster, Kailey Jones, Covin Jones, Cloie McKinney, Jasic Jones, Kaiden McKinney, Avidan Jones, Greyson Jones, Jeremiah McKinney, Timothy McKinney, great-grandchildren, Dean Tomlin, Carlla Jones, Melody Foster, and Aspen Foster; five sisters, Alma Mills, Emma & Rodger Parsons, Alice & Dane Gillespie, Debbie Fitzpatrick, and Rita & Gary Gosnell, one brother, John & Teresa Jones and a host of extended family and friends who cherished him deeply.

Alvin's legacy of kindness, humility, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew him.

While our hearts grieve his passing, we rejoice in the assurance that he now rests in the eternal presence of his Savior. His life was a testament to God's grace, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A celebration of Alvin's life will be held at Grandview Park Shelter #4 on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Celebration Service will be held at 3:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Doug Holley. The family invites all who knew him to attend and honor a life well lived.
