Alvin Ray Williams, age 64, of Daniels, WV passed away at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, WV on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
Born on June 11, 1959 in Charlottesville, Virginia, he was the son of the late Lonzo Williams and Yvonne "Tommie" Petry Williams.
Ray, as he was known by his family and friends was a coal miner, and a member of the UMWA. He loved his dogs, especially "Peanut." He enjoyed collecting old coins, and fossils from the coal mines.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of nearly 25 years, Linda Young Williams; his children, Chris Young and companion Lori of Beckley, Simon Williams of Naoma, Alvin Williams Jr. of Beckley, and a step son Jason Young and wife Angela of White Oak. A brother, Eddie Williams and wife Crystal of Grandview; two sisters Katy Green and husband Eddie of Arnett, and Jeannie Weitzel and husband Danny of Athens; eighteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Sunday, June 9, 2024 from 5 PM until 7 PM, with a funeral service immediately following at 7 PM with Pastor Jordan Legg officiating.
According to Ray's personal wishes, he will then be cremated.
