Anna Faye Goad, affectionately known as Annie, passed away on Jul 30, 2024, at home in Odd, WV. Born to John and Matha Hurley (both deceased) on April 20, 1945, in Harlan, KY, she was a pillar of strength and love to all those who knew her.
Anna Faye was cherished by her husband, Freddie Goad, for 56 years, her daughter, Bonniejean (Stephen) Alexander, her granddaughters: Amethyst Alexander, Cassey (Alex) Wriston, and Michaella Milam. She has two wonderful great grandchildren she adored, Ellianna Faye Wriston and Lane Jennings Wriston. She was also loved by her sisters Brenda (Clarence, deceased) Reed, Sheila (Noah, deceased) Farley, and Dinah (John) Sittniewski. Her sister Dori and brothers Billie (Kay) Hurley and Don (Emma) Hurley preceded her in death.
Anna Faye extended her love to her many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, but her love didn't stop there. Anna Faye was kind and loving to everyone she met. She could draw a person in with her kindness and laughter. She took special care and nurtured many children through the years that she called her kids. This was especially true for the children she cooked for in school and the friends of her daughter and grandchildren. She welcomed everyone with open arms and a hug.
Anna Faye's love languages were food and homemade gifts. She loved to share her crafts, sewing projects, and food with everyone. Any time you came to visit her, you left with something homemade, whether it was jelly, a home cooked meal, or an ornament she painstakingly made with squares of fabric and over 70 needles. Anna Faye also made homemade embroidered blankets for every new arrival in the family.
Anna Faye's legacy will live on in her family, extended family, and friends. She will be profoundly missed by everyone who called her family and friend.
