Basil Lee Weaver Jr.

Basil Lee Weaver Jr., age, 77 of Daniels, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born on May 14, 1947 in Wyoming, WV, he was the son of the late Basil Weaver Sr. and Jewell Brammer Weaver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 34 years, Donna Weaver; a sister Myra Burrell and a step daughter Trena Toney.

Mr. Weaver was an electrician in the coal mines for 42 years. He served on the Mullens, WV Volunteer Fire Department for 37 years, and ended his career as Assistant Fire Chief. Mr. Weaver served in the US Army National Guard for 10 years.

He was a charter member of Faith Community Church in Beckley.  Mr. Weaver was an avid NASCAR fan for over 50 years, with permanent reserved seating at Bristol and Charlotte Speedways. He also enjoyed golfing, and was always making others laugh.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 16 years, Dinah K. Weaver; his two sons, Greg and his wife, Jerri of Mullens, WV, and Todd and his wife Erica of Bradley, WV.

Two step children, Joy and Jesse, both of Bradley, WV; Grandchildren, Gregory Jr., Garrick, Haley, Zachary, Avery, Teya, Luke, Jenna and Carlie; great grandchildren, Stella Mae, Stetson and Emileen.

Mr. Weaver also leaves behind to cherish his memory a brother, Charles Weaver and his wife Shirley of Bluefield, VA, and a sister Sheila Prillman of Corinne, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Sam Peterson and Pastor Jason Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family extends special thanks to Bowers Hospice House nursing staff, especially Ashley, and including Kristy, Tammy. Leslie, Kalee, Amy, Warren, Kara, and AnnDee.
