Bernice Galyean

Bernice Galyean, age 79, of Beckley, WV passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley,  WV.

Born on May 27, 1946 in Mohawk, WV, (McDowell County), she was the daughter of the late Jennings S. Galyean and Lillian Cline Galyean.

In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by brothers, Jennings C. Galyean, Benny Galyean, and Gary Galyean; brother-in-law Allen Silvers, sisters-in-law Linda and Gail Galyean; nephews, Derek and Michael Galyean; infant niece Adrionna Galyean; great niece Destiny Silvers.

Bernice was a former employee of J.C. Penney Company with 25 years of service, being employed in management.

She was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed collecting Peanut Character items, especially Snoopy items. She also loved collecting Depression Era glassware.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her sisters, Norma Hand and husband Bob of Bristol, VA, Bobbie Galyean of Beckley, Stella Richie of Waterloo, IN, and Karen Silvers of Faith, NC; A sister-in-law Janet Galyean of  Peterstown, WV; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted  at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 2 PM with Pastor Steve Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset  Memorial Park in Beckley, WV.  Friends may visit with the family from 1 PM until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
