Betty Jo Dowler

Betty Jo Dowler (Webb, Meador, Blevins) known affectionately by many who loved her as "Miss Betty" passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025 with her loving children, Herbert Meador and Dreama Moon.

Born on April 13, 1930, Betty Jo lived a full life with her many dogs, Princess, Missy, Lucky, Pryness, and Holly, friends, family and her co-workers at Dollar General, Commission on Aging, and Sam's. Prior to moving back home to Beckley in 1999, she worked in Columbus, Ohio as a nail technician.

She is survived by her sister, Linda, son, Herb and daughter- in- law Phyllis, daughter, Dreama, nieces, Tonya and Tammy, nephews, Steve and Doug, great niece Lindsay, grandchildren, Herb III, Ethyn, Aleyah, Brian, Chad, Lacy, Hunter, Lakin, Nicole, Tiffany, Shawnda, great-grandchildren, Darien, Herb IV, Kathy Rose, Emmy Lou, Ricky, Sophia, Julia, C J, Mikhil, Liam, and great-great grandson, Zay Zay.

"Miss Betty" or Grandma Jo was known for her beauty, style, infectious smile and fun-loving spirit. She was a BIG personality and all that met her, loved her. Although she could be ornery, she was always there when anyone needed her and thrived when she had someone to take care of.  Betty was an accomplished person, not afraid to change careers as she did many times. She loved working and worked up until COVID hit (when she was 89!). She loved the Lord and attended various houses of worship in Beckley.

Visitation will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM for friends. Private family visitation will be from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM. A service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum B at 3:00 PM on Friday with Rev. Ronnie Stover officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
