Betty Frances Frazier

Betty Frazier, age 94, of Crab Orchard, WV, was released and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 22, 2024 Beckley, WV. Born on September 5, 1930 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Clark Wickline and Nellie Mae Townsley Wickline.

Betty grew up on the Greenbrier River at Hinton, where she enjoyed playing with her friend Lula Meadows on the river bank. As a teenager, she began playing the piano, and continued to play  all of her life.  Betty  also began sewing, making her own stylish clothing for many years.   She married, and had four children, and continued making clothing, and cooking fantastic meals. She was an excellent cook and was always there to lend an ear to her children for loving advice. Betty was artistic by nature, having made quilts, crochet items and dolls. She had numerous orders for many years from Tamarack, giving great attention to the tiny details of her doll making.

Betty worked at the office of Pinecrest Hospital for over 20 years, finally retiring at the age of 80. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Beckley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Robert Lee Frazer II.

Those of us who remain, who also benefited from her love, incredible talents, and kindness include  her children, Sherry Neel and husband John of Crab Orchard, Holly Cone and companion John Thayer of Green Bay, WI, and Jeffrey Frazier of Crab Orchard. Three granddaughters, Kyra Dupree and husband Tim, Brie Shernisky and husband Jim, and Lindy Weaver; great grandson, Xander Christian, great granddaughter Leah Emersyn;  great grandsons James John and Andrew Alan, with another great grandson on the way in March 2025 Aaron Evan. She leaves behind countless friends, co-workers and neighbors.

A  private family service will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV on Sunday, December 29, 2024 with Rev. Joan Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery at Forest Hill, WV.
