Betty Lorene Harrah

Betty Lorene Harrah, age 56, of Harper Heights, WV, passed away at her home on Monday, December 9, 2024.

Born on June 26, 1968 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Harrah Sr. and Frances Irene Fox Harrah.

"Betty", as she was known by her family and friends, was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, and Concord College with a degree in Social Work. She was a member of the Bradley Church of God, and enjoyed spending time with her family, and keeping the memory of the UBB Coal Mine Disaster alive.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Steve Harrah, and also by her fiancé, Dennis Blackburn.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her siblings, Gilbert Harrah Jr. and wife, Vickie of Mooresville, NC, Linda Mills and husband, Mason of Ghent, Brenda Pederson and husband, Mike of Brunswick, GA, and Terry Sue Ellison and companion, Curtis Todd of Grandview; a sister-in-law Tammy Harrah of Grandview. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Betty also leaves behind very special friends Jerry and Linda Ramsey.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Brian White officiating. Burial will follow at the Harrah Cemetery at Backus  Mountain, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
