Betty Jane Bennett, age 93, of Midway, WV, formerly of Plumley Mountain, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at her home following a long illness.

Born on February 22, 1933 at Pear, WV, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Plumley and Lola Pansy Smith Plumley.

Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker, and a member of New Salem Baptist Church at Abraham, WV. She loved her church family, and enjoyed playing board games, word puzzles, cooking, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Daris Bennett; by daughter Carolyn Sue Arthur; by brothers Bert C. Plumley, Bruce A. Plumley, and Bobbie D. Plumley; by sisters, Bonnie G. Helton and Barbara A. Bazzie; by granddaughter, Krystal Yearago; by great grandchildren Amber Meadows and Tabitha Meadows.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her children, Connie Lou Cook of Midway, and Douglas Edward Bennett and wife Lori of Plumley Mountain; grandchildren, Marsha Stover and husband Brian, Christina Reed and fiancé Johnny Howerton, Jeri Sue Meadows, Brian Meadows, and Matthew Arthur and wife Stacie; great grandchildren, Tiffany Smith and husband Jamie, Justin Reed, Ashton and Isaac Arthur, Brody, Kason, and Raydin Yearago; great-great grandchildren Isabella and Liam Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley, WV on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Kerry Smith and Pastor William Plumley officiating. Burial will follow at the Washington Plumley Cemetery at Plumley Mountain,
WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Brian Meadows, Matthew Arthur, Justin Reed, Brian Stover, Donna Brubach, and Jamie Smith.
