Betty Gail Mcclanahan

Betty Gail McClanahan, age 80, of Stanaford, WV passed away at the home of her granddaughter, Jaime Kelly of Ghent, WV on Friday, July 11, 2025.

Born on April 16, 1945 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late George McClanahan and Violet Ewing McClanahan.

Betty, (AKA grandma Betty) as she was known by family and friends was a homemaker most of her life.  She loved embroidering, wallpapering, crafting, making pottery, refurbishing furniture, reading and playing cards.

Most of all, Betty loved being in the presence of her loving family, and taking care of others.

In addition to  her parents, she was preceded in  death by a sister Gloria Plumley.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include  her sons, Patrick Seaman of  Stanaford, and  Larry Seaman and wife Nelva of Fayetteville, NC; a step son Jeff Seaman of Rockingham, NC; Jaime Kelly  and husband Ryan of Ghent, and George Seaman of Georgia; a great grandson Leo Kelly of Ghent; a  sister Melinda Cumbow of Leonardtown, MD.

A committal service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Beckley, WV on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM,  with Pastor Lonnie Grear  officiating. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at the mausoleum.  Burial will follow at the cemetery.
