Billie Deloris Hutchens

Billie Deloris Caudill Hutchens, age 90, of Coal City, WV passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024 at Hilltop Center following a short illness.

Born on April 11, 1934 in Lillybrook WV, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Jordan Caudill and Launa "Lulu" Walker Caudill Chamberlain Taylor.

Mrs. Hutchens was a housewife and of the Christian faith.  She enjoyed sewing quilts and making her own clothes, working crytogram, crossword, and word search puzzles, gardening and canning, and hanging out with family.  She was a graduate of Stoco High School in Coal City, Class of 1952.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Bennie, her daughter Beth Roark, her brothers Edwin and Charles, her sisters Marcella, Rosemary, Annabelle, Cleo, Jean, and Tommie;  Also, her grandson Christopher Gravley, her granddaughter Sarah Gravley, and her great-grandson Nathaniel Gravley.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Bobbie Gravley and husband Gary of Oak Hill, and Rosalie Hutchens of Daniels;  also a son-in-law Johnny Roark of Jonben, whom she was fond of calling "John Boy";  Grandchildren:  Jason Gravley, Jennifer Jennings, Daniel Gravley, Amy Keel, Shane Roark, Angela Hall, Heather Watson, and Greg Mitchem; Great-grandchildren: Ashley, Jacob, Aubrey, Harmonee, A.C., Allie, Caleb, Hayden, Ethan, Emmy, and Kiara;  Great-great-grandchildren:  Alivia, Raylee, Morgan, and Georgia Beth;  Also a sister, Gwen Caudill of Bristol VA.

Funeral services will be conducted by Rose & Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 2 PM with the Rev Eric Hutchens officiating.  Family visitation will begin at 12 PM, friends visitation will begin at 1 PM. Burial will follow the funeral at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity in the Garden of the Good Shepherd.
