Bob Maltempie

Bob Maltempie, 92, of Grandview, West Virginia passed away on May 20, 2026, surrounded by family.

He was born on September 9, 1933, to Anniable Maltempie and Eula Pennington Maltempie in Crumpler, West Virginia. After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1951, Bob served in the United States Navy. After his military service, Bob attended Beckley College, Morris-Harvey College and West Virginia University where he earned a Master of Arts degree in Guidance Counseling.

In 1959, Bob married the love of his life, Ann Maltempie, and together they shared 60 wonderful years. Bob worked for C&P Telephone Company, Bell Atlantic and eventually retired from Verizon after 45 years of service. Outside of work, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Bob was a faithful member of Crow Baptist Church.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Ann and his granddaughter Alyssa Maltempie. He is survived by son Mark Maltempie and wife Kelly, son Philip Maltempie and wife Wendy, son Michael Maltempie, and daughter Kristi Logan and husband Jason.

Surviving grandchildren are Adam Maltempie, his wife Bethany and great-grandsons Gabriel, Tollison, and Titus; Elizabeth Lambert, her husband Samuel and great-grandson Nolan; Joseph Maltempie, Jacob Maltempie, Isaiah Logan and Eli Logan.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 12 PM at Crow Baptist Church located at 142 Crow Baptist Lane, Beaver, West Virginia. Friends may visit with the family from 10 AM until service time. Bob will be entombed at Sunset Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Crow Baptist Church and Bowers Hospice House.
