Bobby Lewis Blankenship

Bobby Lewis Blankenship, age 78, of Odd, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 28, 2023.

Born on November 24, 1945 in Hurley, Virginia, he was the son of the late Cloyd and Della Mounts Blankenship.

Bobby organized the Friday Night Jam Sessions at Ghent Volunteer Fire Department on March 18, 2011, and enjoyed singing and playing music with his friends.  Bobby also loved riding his four-wheeler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Ray and Jerry Blankenship; sisters Mamie Sue Tiller, Annie Smith and Bernice Justus.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Rema Vera Norman Blankenship; a son Bradley Scott Blankenship of Odd; brother Ronnie Blankenship (Pat) of Chilhowie, Va; sisters Katie Smith (Ralph) of Royal Retreat, Va, Judy Justus of Adwolf, Va, Thelma Hubbard of Adwolf, Va, and Cynthia Burge of Marion, Va. Several nieces and nephews, and a special cousin Sharon Mounts also are among the survivors.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 1 PM with Rev. Randy Farley officiating. Burial will follow at the Odd Cemetery at Odd, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
