Bobby Joe Kidd. Sr.

Bobby Joe Kidd, Sr., 80, of Beaver, WV, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Bower Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born on March 26, 1944, in Cobb County, Georgia, Bobby was an only child. He spent his early years between Smyrna and Valdosta, Georgia, where his stepfather was a professor at Valdosta State. Raised by his mother and stepfather, he moved between Valdosta and Smyrna before graduating from Valdosta High School in 1962. He later returned to Smyrna and eventually retired with his family to West Virginia in 2023.

For over 40 years, Bobby owned and operated his own telecommunications company in Georgia. Through his work, he built lasting relationships with clients and colleagues who will remember his larger-than-life personality and generous spirit.

Bobby was known for his kindness, deep faith, and contagious laugh. He had a great love for animals and enjoyed football and wrestling. His presence was as big as his heart, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Kidd-Dales, and his stepfather, Jimmy Dales.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of nearly 48 years, Doris Everett-Kidd; his children: Tracy Kidd-Collins of Woodstock, GA; Bobby Joe Kidd, Jr. (BJ) of Beaver, WV; and Elizabeth Kidd-Masula (Beth) and her husband Jason Masula (Jace) of Daniels, WV; as well as his grandsons: Noah Masula, Bobby Joe Kidd III (Trey), and Victor Parris Collins II.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in his hometown of Smyrna, GA.

Details will be announced at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bobby's honor to The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association or a local animal shelter or rescue.

His legacy of generosity will live on through those who loved him.
