Bonnie Almeda Smith

Bonnie Almeda Smith, age 88, of Huntington, WV, formerly of Daniels, WV passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024 in a Ironton, Ohio care center.

Born on January 16, 1936 at Crow, WV, she was the daughter of the late Dophen Redden and Juanita Meadows Redden.

Mrs. Smith was a graduate of Shady Spring High School, and was a retired L.P.N. at the Beckley VA Medical Center. She was a member of Clifftop Missionary Baptist, and had made her home in Huntington, WV since 2019.

Mrs. Smith enjoyed gardening, traveling, shopping and working puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Theodore Dolan in January 1982; second husband Merril Smith in May 2023; children Debra Dolan in July 2017, and Kelly Canterbury in October 2018.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include children, Teresa Reyburn and husband Paul of Huntington, and James Dolan of Eustis, Florida. Two sisters, Erma Byrd of Ghent, and Linda Smolsky and husband Charles of Mayfield Heights, Ohio; a brother Dophen Redden of Shady Spring; six grandchildren, Anna Radcliffe and husband Tyler of Huntington, Johnathan Fry of Lavalette, WV, Ashley Dolan of Zephyrhills, Florida, Amanda Lester of Beckley, Nathan Dolan of Texas and Teresa Dolan of Erie, Pennsylvania; six great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 11AM with Pastor Keith Manning officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
