Carlos Raymond Plumley, Jr.

Carlos Raymond Plumley Jr., age 82, of Irish Mountain, WV passed away at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

Born on August 8, 1943 at Indian Mills, WV, he was the son of the late Carlos Raymond Plumley Sr. and Banna Bennett Plumley.

Mr. Plumley was a retired welder, and attended  Arthur's Chapel at Abraham. He enjoyed fishing, and going to the river with his wife, Betty. He was known for his quick wit and telling jokes, and could make anyone laugh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son David Plumley; by siblings, Raymond Plumley, Tolley Plumley, Joyce Kincaid, Norma Farley, and Shirley Johnson.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 62 years, Betty Sparks Plumley; his children, Carlos Leon Plumley and wife Gail of Irish Mountain, and Crystal Dawn Rouse and husband James of Camden, SC; four sisters, Carol Bragg and husband Keith of Bragg, Louise Bragg of Wisconsin, Kathy Cotter of Wisconsin, and Judy Ellen Plumley of Beckley. Four grandchildren, Carlisha Bragg,  Matthew Plumley, Bobby Call, and Sarah Call;  six  great grandchildren,  Zach Bragg, Autumn Bragg, Kirra Plumley, Kaiden Plumley, Raylan Plumley, and Xavier Call. " He will always be our hero."

According to Mr. Plumley's personal wishes, no services will be held.
