Carmen Shelly Coon Williams, age 90, of Comfort, WV passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV.
Born on March 10, 1934 in Edwight, WV, she was the daughter of the late Siegel Coon and Esther Edith Harper Coon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond; her son Larry and her long time partner and best friend Jerry Lambert.
Carmen lived most of her life at Racine, WV, and Comfort, WV, where she was a postmistress for over 30 year. After her retirement from the postal service, she owned and managed several mail routes that she fully participated in for many years.
She spent her golden years enjoying her children and her grandchildren. She spent her whole life as a Public Servant. She took pride in being there for anyone that needed her.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her son Gary Williams and partner Lynn Hudson; daughter Barbara Calvert and husband Phil; grandson Nick Calvert and granddaughter Natalie Calvert and fiancé Justin Lucas; brother Kenny Coon and his wife Sandy; nephew Anthony Coon wife Mary; niece Kim Bias and husband Jeff; great nephew Christopher Bias; good friends, Sherry Williams, Jerry Lambert, Ruth Elkins, Wilma Adkins (care giver), Raymond Williams, and special friend Michael Quesenberry (deceased).
A service will be held at the Pineview Cemetery Mausoleum in Orgas, WV on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 2 PM with Rev. Kenneth Coon officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1 PM until service time on Saturday at the mausoleum. Burial will follow at the cemetery.
