Carol Marie Ickes

Carol Marie Ickes, age 73, of Beaver, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born on April 26, 1950 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Milton Smith and Mary Redden Smith.

Mrs. Ickes was a homemaker and a devoted pastor's wife. She was a member of Bible Covenant Church in Beckley. She  loved spending time  with her family,  especially her grandchildren.

In addition  to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Calvin Smith.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of nearly 54 years, Gary Ickes; a  son Wayne Ickes and wife Jennifer of Daniels; eight grandchildren, Zachary Tincher, Jordan Tedder and husband Josh, Katie Ickes and boyfriend Austin, Michael Guilliams and wife Hannah, Peyton, Ezra, and Adalyn Ickes. Two sisters, Donna Harvey and husband William of Daniels, and Kay Bailey and husband Tike of Beaver; a brother Keith Smith and wife Carol of Daniels.  A host of other loving family members also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 1 PM with Brother Danny Ellison officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV.  Friends may visit with the family from 11 AM  until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Ickes, Michael Guilliams, Kenny Pack, Greg Pack, Russell Ickes and Jeremy Harvey.

The family  extends special thanks to Bowers Hospice House, 3rd Floor Staff of Princeton Community Hospital, and  the staff of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home.
