Carol Sue Upton, age 77, of Shady Spring, WV passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on November 17, 1946 in Logan, she was the daughter of the late David Edward Morgan and Mildred Pauline Miller Morgan.

Mrs. Upton was a homemaker, enjoyed decorating for the holidays, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved taking care of her pets, especially her dogs.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Upton was preceded in death by her son Jason Upton; two brothers David Joe Morgan and Bobby Morgan.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of 48 years, Ronald Dean Upton; three children, Karen Vass of South Carolina, Donna Withrow of Shady Spring, and Michelle Gallaher and husband Keith of Beaver. A brother, Charles Morgan and wife Drema of Valdese, NC; a sister Tammi Pittman and husband David of Shady Spring. Six grandchildren,  Brittany Steplowski and husband Joey, Kaitlyn Dwyer and husband Michael, Joshua Smart, Jacob Cruise, Emily Gallaher, and Morgan Withrow; two great grandchildren, Liam Dwyer, and Jay Steplowski, with another great granddaughter  soon to be born; brother-in-law Kyle Upton and wife Bernice of Daniels; sister-in-law Wilma Marshall and husband Aubrey of Shady Spring; Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 1 PM with Pastor Sam Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
