Cecelia Ann Cole

Cecelia Ann Cole, age 88, of Coal City, WV passed away at Beckley Healthcare Center in Beckley, WV on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Born on January 7, 1938 in Christiansburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Spradling and Elsie Cole Spradling.

Mrs. Cole was a retired school teacher with 27 years of service, having taught mostly in the Coal City area. She was a graduate of Morris Harvey College, and received her Master's Degree in Education from West Virginia University.

Mrs. Cole was a member of Sunset Hills Missionary Baptist Church at Coal City. She enjoyed crocheting in her spare time.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Cole; a brother Cecil Spradling Jr., and a sister Nancy Brown.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of 64 years, Vonley Cole; a son Roger Cole and wife Vicky of Bridgeport, WV; two grandsons, Ethan Cole and wife Colleen of Bridgeport, WV, and Wade Cole and wife Saveena of Bridgeport, WV; four great grandsons and one great granddaughter; a brother Jerry Spradling and wife Debbie of Moneta, VA; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at Sunset Hills Missionary Baptist Church at Coal City, WV on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Michael Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 until service time on Friday at the church.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
