Charles Everette Bickford

Charles Everette Bickford, age 87, of Oak Hill, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 28, 2026, peacefully in his home.

Born on May 14,1938 at Beckwith, he was the son of the late Robert Bickford and Fanny Bickford.

Mr. Bickford was a custodian through the Fayette County Board of Education for 22 years, and 25 years as a faithful Deacon at Sand Branch Worship Center. He enjoyed going to church, and spending time with his family. Mr. Bickford loved listening to gospel music and going fishing.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Mary "Snookie" Bickford; by his parents, Robert and Fanny Bickford; by his brothers, Jack Bickford, Leo Bickford, Ronnie Bickford, and Jim Bickford; by sister Trudy Bickford; by grandson Kenneth G. Wesley Bickford.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include seven children, Carol Arrington of Fayetteville, Sharon Fink and husband Rex Fink of Victor, Sandra "Boo" Souder and husband Pastor Ken Souder of Oak Hill, Darrell Bickford of Fayetteville, Junior Bickford and wife Missy Bickford of Oak Hill, Michael Bickford of Beckley, and Chrystal McGuire and husband Pastor Gary McGuire of Beckley; nine grandchildren, Joyce Arrington, Joshua Bickford, Tempest Cook and husband Logan Cook, Isaac McGuire and wife Hailey McGuire, Olivia McGuire, Jared Souder and wife Kristen Souder, Allen Fink, Adam Fink, and Ashley Thomas; ten great grandchildren, Ian, Addie, Vivian, Gracie, Kennadi, Graham, Poppy Ann, Faith, Ethan, and Conner; one brother, Leonard Bickford and wife Anna; three sisters, Sissy Jones, Louise Gillespie and husband David, and Lisa Gaye and husband Jerry.

Special mention to, Brooklyn Long, Tim and Vera Robbins, Joshua Bickford, Terri Souder, Brittany Layton, Rosetta, Robin Spangler, and Beverly Burgess. Thank you to all the staff at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Funeral services will be conducted at Sand Branch Worship Center on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Ken Souder and Pastor Gary McGuire officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Oak Hill, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
