Charles Frazier Cole, age 75, of Ghent, WV passed away on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV, following a short illness.
Born on February 23, 1950 in Josephine, WV, he was the son of the late Jess Cole and Ida Thompson Cole.
Charles, as he was known by his family and friends, was a retired coal miner with 37 years of service with Consol Energy, as an underground coal miner. He was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed hunting and spending with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta Janeen Cole; by brothers, Hershel Cole, Alen Cole and Larry Cole; sisters, Jenny Bolen and Easter Johnston; sons-in-law Steve Meadows and Rocky Stewart.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his devoted wife of 57 years, Drema Mitchell Cole; two daughters Kimberly Stewart of Elgin, SC, and Bridget Meadows of Crab Orchard; a brother John Cole of Chicago, IL; three sisters Janet Messer of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Margaret Mills of Shady Spring, and Mettie Blankenship and husband Eddie of Coal City; grandchildren, Kasey Brovan and husband Brian, Kody Stewart and wife Lauren, Jennifer Coulter and husband Robbie, and Kelsey Meadows; great grandchildren, Sadie, Clara, Colton, Noah, Brody, Averey, and Bristol, with another great grandson soon to be born; a special double niece, Loretta Jean Schwab.
A service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Eddie Tucker officiating. Friends may visit with the family thirty minutes prior to the services at the mausoleum on Wednesday.
Family members will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow at the cemetery.
