Charles Houston Earehart

Charles Houston Earehart passed away peacefully at rest July 16, 2024 at Pine Lodge in Beckley, WV.

Born on Nov 14, 1962 in Beckley, WV. He was the Third son of late Seay Howard Earehart and Alma Earehart.

Houston was also preceded in death by his longtime companion Janet Meador and grandparents.

He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School where he was a member of the football and weightlifting teams and was known to be the largest blocker. Teammates said that no one could break through his block. As a senior Houston visited his brother at Art Institute of Pittsburgh where a Steelers banquet was happening in the Marriott nearby. Houston walked into the banquet where assuming he was a Steeler he was not questioned as he chatted with players like Terry Bradshaw and their families and helped himself to the buffet.

He was an avid boater and loved water skiing when possible. He would often be found at Flat Top Lake or Stephens Lake intertubing or skiing with friends and family. He was an Auto Salesman where he worked with his father and uncles at several of their dealerships always making friends with clients and customers. He loved attending auto auctions and traveling to sales events.

Houston was suffering from ALS and as the disease progressed, he found himself losing his mobility and use of his arms but kept his spirits high till it progressed further in the past year.

He spent most of his time reading The Bible and quoting scriptures to friends and family ready to pass through Heaven's Gate to be with his parents and Janet. As his ALS progressed, he found strength through his belief in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his two brothers, Seay Earehart of Atlanta, GA and Michael Wayne Earehart of Beckley, WV, his nephew Nicholas Ryan Earehart, his wife Suzanne B. Earehart and two second nephews Beckettt Nash Earehart and Baylor Knox Earehart, many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Houston chose to be cremated and the family will announce soon a planned celebration of his life.

He was a strong advocate for animals and the family asks for donations in his name can be given to the Humane Society of Raleigh County, 325 Grey Flats Road, Beckley, WV. 25801. We also ask that donations can be given to Hospice of Southern WV. P.O. Box 1472 Beckley WV 25801.
