Charles Lee Ellison

Charles Lee Ellison, age 71, of Daniels, WV passed away at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV on Saturday, July 6, 2024.

Born on August 10, 1952 in Beckley, he was the son of the late Ray Ellison Jr. and Miriam Lois Howell Ellison.

Mr. Ellison was a former truck driver, and a United States Army Veteran. In his early life, he enjoyed racing, riding motorcycles, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.  He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by grandmother, Laura Maude Williams, mother Miriam Lois Ellison, brothers, Robert and Ralph Ellison, and sisters Louise Plumley and his twin sister Janet Cooper.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife Janie Carte-Ellison; daughter Wendy Ward; step daughters Vicki Burgess (Denny), Kathy Sweeney (John), and Tara Burgess; grandchildren Braelyn Garcia and  Xander Blake Ward; step grandchildren, Dakota Burgess, Savanna (Wesley) Patterson, and Tiffany Burgess; several nieces and nephews; special friends Ed Clark and the late Eddie Cochran.

He was a member of Beaver First Baptist Church.

Graveside rites and burial will be held at the Williams Cemetery at White Oak, WV on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 3 PM with Pastor Steve Gibson officiating. In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or service.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
