Charles Ray Dillon

Charles Ray Dillon, age 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, following a long illness.

Charles was born on November 21, 1942, in Lanark, West Virginia, and was the son of the late William and Eva Dillon. He proudly served four years in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, Charles graduated from Morris Harvey College and retired from American Electric Power in 2006 after many years of dedicated service.

Charles brought joy to everyone he met and lived a life firmly rooted in faith, family, and service. He was an active member of Grace Community Church, where he faithfully served as a deacon, Sunday School superintendent, Sunday School teacher, and choir member.

Although illness took its toll during his final year, it never defined who Charles was to those who loved him. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, caring brother and uncle, and a loyal friend. His life leaves a lasting legacy of faith, kindness, and love. While he will be deeply missed, his memories will live on, and the family finds comfort in knowing he is now at rest.

Charles treasured the 53 years he shared with his loving wife, Leola Dillon, until her passing in 2023. He especially cherished time spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Leola Dillon; his brother, William Bennett; and his brother, Jack Dillon.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Greg Dillon (Alicia) and Eric Dillon (Lauren); six grandchildren, Evelyn, Abby, Coby, Nathan, Luke, and Sydney; and his sister, Marlene Mays (Howard).

A visitation will be held at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley, West Virginia, on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 PM, with a funeral service immediately following at 7:00 PM. A private interment will take place on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
