Charles Edward Shrewsberry

Charles Edward Shrewsberry, age 78, of Prince, WV passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV.

Born on May 16, 1945 in Thurmond, he was the son of the late Lawrence Adkins and Frances Marie Ewing Adkins.

Mr. Shrewsberry was a retired coal miner, and enjoyed attending flea markets. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and gardening.

In  additions to his  parents, he was preceded in death by former wife Janie  Kincaid; a  son Dean Shrewsberry; a grandson Cody Shrewsberry.

Those  survivors left to cherish his memory include his sons Gene Shrewsberry and wife Kathy of Piney View, Ray Shrewsberry and wife Barbara of Prince; grandchildren Randy Shrewsberry of Piney View, Chris Shrewsberry and wife Tabitha of Piney View, Mary Evelyn Surbaugh and husband Paul of Grassy Meadows, Anna Shrewsberry and husband  Cody  of Prince,  Holly Kiser and husband Adam of Prince, and Savanna Williams of Harper Road; great grandchildren, Hunter Shrewsberry, Ryder Shrewsberry, Trenton Fox, Eli Surbaugh, Jessalynn Shrewsberry,  two soon to be born Baby Surbaugh and Baby Kiser, and another great granddaughter Dakota Sexton.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 1 PM with his daughter-in-law Kathy Shrewsberry officiating. Burial will follow at the Adkins Cemetery at Highland Mountain, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers be Randy Shrewsberry, Chris Shrewsberry, Ray Shrewsberry, Hunter Shrewsberry, Paul Surbaugh and Adam Kiser.

Alternate pallbearer will be Cody Rhodes.
