Charles David Tolley

Charles David Tolley "Mr. Coffee", age 77, of Tolleytown, (Surveyor), WV passed away on March 27, 2025.

He was the son of the late Clayton and Athlean Cook Tolley of Surveyor and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Mr. Tolley loved singing to his family and friends, and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a loving  husband, father and grandfather. He loved to talk, cut up and laugh, and he never met a stranger.

Mr. Tolley was a lifelong resident of Tolleytown. He was a retired union shuttle car operator and coal miner. Mr. Tolley was talented with many jobs and was also a very good mechanic.

He was married nearly 50 years to his soulmate Peggy Williams Tolley, to whom he adored. He loved her more than life itself, through thick and thin.

Other than his wife, surviving are two children, Charles David Tolley II of Surveyor, and Teanna Marie Tolley Collins of Surveyor; grandchildren, Noah Clayton Collins, Allen Cole Collins and Nevaeh Faith Tolley, who he loved dearly.

A brother-in-law and best friend, Randy Dillon of Sandlick, and special friend Jim Ayers, of Nashville, TN.

Charles also had many other friends.

A visitation will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM with Rev. Billy Waddell Jr. officiating.
