Christopher Curtis Buckner, 60, of Beaver, WV went to his heavenly home on August 1, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
Chris was a beloved son, husband, father, granddad, uncle and friend to many. Chris will be remembered for his fighting spirit and never giving up.
He graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in 1983, and The National Institute of Technology in 1989. He began his career with Schwan's in 1994 and retired in 2023.
Chris was a devoted member of Tilden Community Church.
Chris was married to the love of his life Tina "Bailey" Buckner on September 19th, 1987. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories and adventures. His love for Tina was evident to everyone who met him.
One of his greatest joys in life was the deep and unbreakable bond he shared with his son, Franklin, whether they were out in the woods hunting, teeing off on the golf course, or just enjoying time together. They shared a love for the great outdoors, and for life that was unmistakable.
His daughter, Bailey had him wrapped around her finger from day one- his little girl. He was her greatest fan. His love for her was full of pride; whether it was through his warm hugs, his gentle advice, or the way his eyes lit up whenever she entered the room. Their bond was one of a kind.
As an avid outdoorsman, Chis spent every minute he could outside. His hobbies included archery, hunting of all kinds, golfing, kayaking and fishing- all ways for him to be in nature, the place he felt closest to God. Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, was another of his greatest joys. Chris loved a good joke, and could always be found making someone laugh, with his humorous personality. There wasn't anything Chris couldn't fix, always lending a hand to others when they needed it.
He was preceded in death by his in-laws, Guy F. Bailey and Delores "Corky" Bailey, and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Tina Buckner; parents, Curtis and Jeanette Buckner of LeRoy; sister Melissa (Brian) Vickers of Charleston; son, Franklin (Megan) Buckner of Beaver; daughter Bailey (Taylor) Perry of Charleston; nieces Jenna (Johnathan) Elmore of Elkview, and Lindsay (Dennis) Hogue of Charleston; nephews, Wyatt Buckner and Lee Bailey, both of Charleston; great nieces and nephew, Brooke, John , and Braylee of Elkview; and his grandchildren, Calvin and Carter Buckner of Beaver. He also had several beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Special thank you to Serena and Laura with Hospice of Southern WV in Beckley.
