Clara Lee Browning

Clara Lee Browning, age 87, of Beckley, WV formerly of Blue Jay, WV passed away at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV on Thursday, August 1, 2024.

Born on February 1, 1937 in Blue Jay, she was the daughter of the late Archie C. Browning and Lola D. Plumley Browning.

Clara was  preceded in death by two brothers, James H. Browning and Mitchell D. Browning; a brother-in-law Robert J. Hensdill and a niece Tammy Hensdill Daniel.

Clara attended Faith Baptist Church in Prosperity,  and formerly attended Daniels Bible Church in  Daniels, WV.

She is survived by two sisters, Norma Hensdill and Marie Entsminger; a brother Roger Browning and wife Rita; sisters-in-law Gloria Browning and Sandra Browning. Four nephews Jeffrey Hensdill, Brian Okes, Mitchell Browning, and James A. Browning II;  four nieces, Monica Roman, Crystal Brown,  Verna "Sissy" Duckworth and Susan Newsome. Several great and great-great nieces and nephews  also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 2 PM with Pastor Chris Chesley and Pastor Matthew Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley. Friends may visit with  the family one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Rusty Hodges, Jerry Looney, Brian Okes, Ken Harer, Jeffrey Hensdill and Dave Harvey.
