Clarence Steven Summers Jr., age 67, of Prosperity, West Virginia passed away peacefully at CAMC Memorial Division on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 after a long illness.
Born October 10, 1957 in Lynch, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Clarence Summers Sr. and Wanda Oakley Summers. He was formerly of Kopperston, West Virginia and Waxahachie, Texas. Steve was a 1975 graduate of Oceana High School in Oceana, West Virginia.
Steve was a retired iron welder, and enjoyed collecting and always talking about muscle cars, and watching movies with his fiancé Janet Acord.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother Carl Summers and wife Sherry Summers.
Those left to cherish his memory include his fiancé, Janet Acord of Prosperity, son, Jacob Summers and daughter, Jessica (Summers) Grubbs, two sisters, son, Patrick Powell and wife Melissa Powell of Cool Ridge, West Virginia, a very special nephew, Andy Dillon and his life long best friend, Guy Brunty.
Funeral services will be conducted at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Beckley on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 3:00 PM. Friends may visit with family one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the mausoleum. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Guy Brunty, Patrick Powell, Nathan Powell, Memphis Keaton, Austin Powell, and Ashton Keaton.
