Claude Ray Tyree, age 71, of Crab Orchard, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 21, 2026 following a short illness.
Claude was born in Mullens, WV on January 25, 1955. He liked raising dachshunds, classic vehicles, classic television shows, westerns, & sitting on the porch and spending time with family, kids, and grandkids. He also loved admiring the neighbor's cows and burro in the field.
He was of the Baptist Faith.
Claude was preceded in death by his father Harvey Clinton Tyree, mother Sadie Tyree McKinney andher husband Jessie McKinney, and his brother Harvey Clinton Tyree.
Those left to cherish the memories are siblings and their spouses Norma & Douglas Hylton of Coal City, sister-in-law Carol Tyree (husband Harvey) of Camp Creek, Mildred & Marvin Wilson of Tennessee, Mary Puckett and (husband Robert) of Coal City, Joyce Bolen and (husband Bobby) of Beckley, Eula and Tommy Wilson of Tennessee, Ronald & Jonalee Tyree of Beckley, Debbie and Roger Bolen of Beckley & Companion Rita Cunningham of Crab Orchard. His children Claude Clinton Tyree of White Oak, Cindy & husband Victor Azocar of North Carolina, Sharon & husband Wesley Lilly of Beckley, Todd and wife Katey Tyree of Crab Orchard, Cody Tyree of Crab Orchard, Joseph Tyree of Crab Orchard. His grandchildren Patrick, Kevin, and Eric all of North Carolina, Matthew Lilly and his fiancée Haley Phillips of Sophia, Andrew and Kayla Lilly of Beckley, and Maddox & Freya Tyree of Crab Orchard. His great-grandchildren Micah, Elias, and Ella Lilly of Beckley, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley, WV from 1 PM until 2:30 PM. Graveside Rites and burial will follow at 3 PM at Thompson Cemetery, 530 Whitby Road, Coal City, WV. Guests may dress casually.
Pallbearers will be sons Todd, Cody, and Joseph Tyree, son-in-law Wes Lilly, and grandchildren Matthew Lilly and Andrew Lilly.
