Connie Sue Howerton, age 59, of White Oak, WV passed away at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
Born on November 16, 1964 in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Phillips and Effie Isom Phillips.
Connie, as she was known by family and friends, was a homemaker. She was a member of Coal City Church of God, and enjoyed caring for her dogs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Donald James Collins I, by siblings Donnie Phillips, Marsha Walls, Luke Phillips and Charles Davis.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband Donald Eugene Howerton of White Oak; her children, Derek Phillips of Coalwood, and Donald Collins and wife Tonya of Princeton; siblings, Bobby Crabtree of Athens, Kathy Dillon and husband Michael of Princeton, Patty England and husband Walton of Princeton, Betty Davis of Beaver, Ann Phillips of Athens and Bill Phillips of Tennessee. Grandchildren, Harley Collins, Charity Collins, Christian Collins, Xander Phillips, and C.J. Phillips. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be held to Celebrate the Life of Connie Sue Howerton on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at 4 PM at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel with Bishop Clarence Lee officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Sunday at the funeral home.
