Cynthia Dalton

Cynthia Ann Dalton, age 64, of Crab Orchard, WV, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

Born on September 17, 1960, in Beckley, she was the daughter of Mildred McGoskey Griffith of Beckley, WV.

She is now in heaven with her grandmother Ardina McGoskey, who she dearly loved. Also preceding her in death were Grandfather George McGoskey, and daughters Jennifer and Jill Dalton.

Cindy, as she was known by family and friends, was employed as an Admissions Counselor for the New River Community and Technical College and was a former employee of the Department of Highways in Raleigh County, as a head clerk.

Cindy was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1978, and a graduate of Bluefield State.  She was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed showing her 1970 Chevelle, and was actively involved with her "car show family". Cindy enjoyed boating and being in the sun.  She also loved doing crafts, shopping, and Christmas.

Other than her mother, Mildred Griffith, those survivors left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, James Dalton; her daughter Jamie Bailey and husband Donald of Daniels; a  mother-in-law, who she loved and admired, Starr Dalton of Crab Orchard, WV. A brother Kevin Griffith and wife  Caroline of Myrtle Beach, SC; a "sister" Patty Atterson and husband Mike of Beckley.  She also leaves behind her beloved Yorkie, "Pippa".

Funeral services will be conducted to Celebrate the Life of Cynthia Dalton on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM, Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV. Mr. Bobby Barley officiating.  Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from noon until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Rick Large, J.D. Whitt, Donald Bailey, Bobby Barley, Kevin Griffith and Eddie Fernatt.  Members of her car show family will lead the procession to the cemetery. Flowers are welcome; however, donations may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in memory of Cynthia Dalton.
