Czerna Richardson

Czerna Gene Richardson, age 87, of Fairdale, WV passed away at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV on Friday, November 22, 2024.

Born at Maple Meadow, WV on September 16, 1937, he was the son of  the late Basil Richardson and Doris Janavee Bailey Richardson.

Mr. Richardson was a retired coal miner and heavy equipment master mechanic  for Maple Meadow Mining Company.  He  was a member of the UMWA, and a member of Stevens Baptist Church at Maple Meadow.  Mr. Richardson taught Sunday School at his  church for over 45 years.  He enjoyed woodworking and farming, and  was raised on his family farm, where he presently resided.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Carol Richardson, and by two infant sisters and three infant brothers.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory  include his wife of over 62 years, Norma Talbott Richardson; three sons, Gary Richardson and wife Tammy of Fairdale, David Richardson and wife Pennie of Mayfield,  Kentucky, and Czerna Gene Richardson Jr. and wife Debbie of Phoenix, Arizona. Nine grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren also survive.
