Daniel Franklin Atwood

Daniel  Franklin Atwood, age 77, of Beckley, WV passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV.

Born on September 1,1947 in Pickshin, WV, he was the son of the late Alvin Atwood and Ina Bennett Atwood Keneda.

Mr. Atwood was a retired produce manager for Walmart at MacArthur, WV. He was a member of the Beckley Church of God for 36 years, where he enjoyed singing. Mr. Atwood loved antiques, and enjoyed going to flea markets and antique stores.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Freddie and David Atwood, and by four sisters, Kathy Meadows, Sharon Lewis, Rosalie Newton, and Dixie Snuffer.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 54 years, Brenda Kay Scott Atwood; a brother, Timmy Atwood and wife, Beverly of Coal City; two sisters, Peggy Young and husband, Jack of Carlisle, Ohio, and Donna Cromer of Beckley; a step brother, Roy Keneda of Georgia; a brother-in-law, Johnny Scott and wife Peggy of Poqouson, Va. The joy of his life was his godson Ryan Belcher and his two children, Brantley and Bristol. A host of nieces and nephews also survive, who loved him very much.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 1:00 PM with Bishop Harold Newsome and Bishop F.D. Sexton officiating.

Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11AM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family members and friends. Tommy Lewis will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
