Daniel Lee Stump II, age 72, of Daniels, WV passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025.
Born on December 15, 1952 in Beckley, he was the son of the late Daniel Stump and Josie Meador Stump.
Danny, as he was known by family and friends, was a graduate of Shady Spring High School. He was a retired coal mine electrician, and had attended the Open Door Church at Shady Spring. Danny loved God and his family, and when younger enjoyed motorcycles and sports cars.
In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by a daughter Jennifer Stump Cox; a granddaughter Grace Stump; a sister Elizabeth Adkins.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Denise Renee Matherly of Daniels; his former wife Drema Hewlett of Grandview; a son Jeremy Stump and wife Stephanie of Ocala, Florida; three grandchildren, John Martin and wife Cassandra, of Daniels, Miranda Matherly and boyfriend Raleigh England of Beckley, and Carlie Cox of Kannapolis, NC, Payson Wintermote, Waylon Stump, Finn Stump and Beckley Stump, all of Ocala, Florida; a great grandson, Augusten Martin of Daniels; a sister Linda Niday and husband Morris "Butch" of Daniels; a brother-in-law and best friend, Lowell "Shotgun" Adkins of Daniels. Danny also leaves behind his furry friend, Lily, who he cared for very much. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other brothers-in-law also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Amos E. Quesenberry Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home at Shady Spring, WV on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Don Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount View Cemetery at Cool Ridge, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 PM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
