Danny Russell Shaffer

Danny Russell Shaffer, age 79, of Mt. Lookout, WV,  passed away on December 10, 2024 at Summersville Memorial Hospital following congestive heart failure worsened by pneumonia.

Born July 25, 1945 in Mt. Lookout, he was the son of the late Othor Allen Shaffer and Mary Ann Legg-Shaffer.

Other than his parents, he joins his beloved wife of 47 years, Lora Ann Underwood-Shaffer.

He is survived by his 2 loving sisters, Carolyn Sue Shaffer-Warburton and Annalee Shaffer-Simmons; four daughters, Martha Danette Shaffer-Bassett (Patrick Lawrence), Pamela Susan Shaffer-Cunningham (Jay), Sarah Danne Shaffer and LouAnn Shaffer-Klipp; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Maxwell (Martha), Danielle (LouAnn), Jude and Ada (Pam).

He was a life long nature enthusiast who love to fish, hunt, camp or simply be in the woods.

Danny shared his love and natural ability in sport with his girls and many more through over 15 years of coaching men, women and girls teams, coaching his girls when they were old enough to play. He was also a member of Mountain State Baptist Church in Summersville, WV.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Mountain State Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 12:00 noon.
