Danny Chester Workman

Danny Chester Workman entered this life on October 10, 1948 and departed from it on Saturday, May 9, 2026.

Danny was born the son of Robert and Ethel Workman in Rock Creek, West Virginia.

Dan was a veteran of the United States Army for over a decade, serving tours during the Vietnam War. He was the recipient of two Purple Heart medals. In his personal life, Dan was known by all as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was also a mentor, providing care and guidance to countless individuals. Danny could be counted on to give help in any way that he could. He could never have known the impact he has left on the lives of those around him.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Bernice and a son, Bobby. Two sisters, Linda Workman and Judy Dickens, as well as his brother, Johnny Workman, many friends and relations, several in-laws, a special friend, Ellen Mathis, and his roommate that became just like a brother to him, Mr. Charles Neubert.

Those left to cherish the memory of Danny are his daughter April (Kevin) Collins, his niece who he raised as a daughter, Savannah (Jeffrey) Wills, his daughter in law Donna Dillon-Butler, grandsons Joshua (Clarence) Dillon and Dougie Butler, granddaughters Brittany (Robert) Dillon, Alana (Harry) Hamrick, Cheyanna (Michael) Stover, Hanna (Jacob) Stover. His great grandchildren are Brooklyn, Dove, Hudson, Jaxon, Jaycee and Hazel. Also left to cherish Dan's memory are his surviving siblings. Sisters Peggy Scarbro (Richard), Rose Watts (Jerry), Helen Foster, and his brother Alan Workman (Sherry). With countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, Danny's memory will be held by many.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Beckley VA Medical Center for their years of care for our beloved Danny, particularly those in Cunard Landing.

The family would like everyone to know that Danny's spirit is resting peacefully now in the arms of his loved ones for eternity in God's care and that his memory will live forever in our hearts.
