Darrel Thomas Lester

Darrel Thomas (Tom) Lester, sixty-eight, of Shady Spring, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2024.

Born July 28, 1956, he was the son of the late Roy and Evelyn Lester.

He was a devoted Dad, Grandpa, Brother, and Friend.

Tom retired from Raleigh General Hospital where he was a nursing assistant, and was loved by the staff and his patients. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and really enjoyed the outdoors.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Derick (Andrea) Lester of White Oak, Roy (Stephanie) Lester of Harwood, Maryland, and Christopher (Ashley) Lester of Daniels. He also had four precious grandsons: Isaac, Elijah, Wyatt, and Colton. He is survived by by his brothers Eddy (Nell) Lester of Huntington, Bill (Ann) Lester of Shady Spring, and his sisters Barbara Sherwood of Shady Spring, and Donna (Gary) Yellin of Cary, North Carolina.

We invite you to celebrate his life with the family on Saturday, November 30, at New Life Baptist Church in White Oak, West Virginia. You can visit with the family starting at 1:00 pm, with service following at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the Bowers Hospice House of West Virginia.
