David Lee Mcallister

David Lee McAllister, age 78, of Beaver, West Virginia passed away on December 27, 2025.

David was born on July 24, 1947 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Oliver Lee McAllister and Cora Jane VanReenan McAllister. He was a proud graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1966, and continued his education at Morris Harvey College and Concord College.

David lived a life rich in curiosity and connection. He loved photography, philosophy, trout fishing, front porch sitting, listening to different genres of music, reading books, and enjoying a good fire. He especially enjoyed sharing stories with anyone willing to listen-whether to dazzle them with brilliance or baffle them with a bit of good-natured bull. Known for his wit, intelligence, and generosity, David was a loving father, a loyal friend to many, and always willing to help anyone in need.

He was member of the Freemasons for over fifty years, a commitment he held with great pride. Throughout his career, David worked for Olan Mills, Pocahontas Truck Sales, Mountain International Trucks Sales, Triple S Corporation, and later retired from MacSafety, where he taught mine safety courses throughout southern West Virginia, leaving a lasting impact on countless individuals.

David is survived by his son, David Lee McAllister II and wife Amy; his grandson, Trey McAllister, and wife Myra; and his cherished great granddaughters, Cora Sue, Ellie Lee, and Braylee Jane. He is also survived by his brother Sam McAllister (Tammy), and sister Kay Kesler (Larry), as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and very close friends.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother James Edgar McAllister, and his nephew Samuel Isiac McAllister.

David will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Services to Celebrate the Life of David Lee McAllister will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 5 PM at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Shady Spring, WV with Pastor Keith Manning officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 4 PM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
