David L. Persinger

David L. Persinger, age 68, of Oak Hill, WV passed away Friday, January 19, 2024 after a long illness, with his family by his side.

Born on January 10, 1956 in  Montgomery, he was the son of the late George Persinger and Phyllis Ballard Persinger.

Dave, as he was known by family and friends, was the third of four children. He was also preceded in death by a brother Steve Persinger and a nephew Josh Persinger.

Those left to cherish his memories are his brother, Sam Persinger of Oak Hill; sister Martha Persinger of Oak Hill, and his beloved daughter of whom he adored, Lauren Persinger of Shady Spring. He also leaves behind step daughter Jennifer Shrewsbury and husband Derek of Odd; special grandson Bentley Shrewsbury of Odd; special friends Barry and Vickey Cox of Shady Spring, along with several nieces and nephews.

David will always be remembered for his love of WVU Mountaineers Football, the 49er's, NASCAR and golf. He loved reading the sports page of the newspaper.

David  made and met lifelong friends  through his job with Pepsi, Frito Lay, Dr. Pepper, Broughton, and J.T. Davenport.

A Celebration of David's Life will be held at Mount Gilead Church Camp at Shady Spring, WV on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 2 PM until 3 PM, with a dinner to follow at the camp also. Please come and share your memories of David with us.
