David Rex Jones

David Rex Jones, age 75, of Cool Ridge, WV passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Charleston Area Medical Center  General Division.

Born on April 17, 1950 in Christiansburg, Virginia, he was the son of the late Betty Ward Jones and Ivan Rex Jones of Pilot, Virginia.

At the age of 12, David moved to Raleigh County, WV, where he resided the remainder of his life. He graduated from Shady Spring High School in 1968.

David married Teresa Farley in 1968.

He went to work in the coal mines at the age of 20, and worked in and around the mines for more than 20 years. His last employment was Lee Supply in Shady Spring, WV, as a warehouse manager. David had many skills and enjoyed working with his hands.

He attended Tilden Community Church.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Teresa Farley Jones; two sons, Michael (Jenny) Jones of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and Dwayne (Amy) Jones of Nashville, Tennessee; three grandsons, Mark, Jarrett, and Zack(Haley), all of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; three great granddaughters, Hartlynn, Rosie and Charlotte; one great grandson, Bo, all of Mount Juliett, Tennessee;  two bonus granddaughters, Samantha Hale and Danielle Jones (Jessie); two bonus great granddaughters, Marlee and Danilynn, one  bonus great grandson, Cooper, all of Whitehouse, Tennessee.

A memorial gathering for friends and family to attend will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
