It is with profound sense of loss and sorrow, that we announce the passing of Delmar Ray Harvey, 81, of Flat Top, WV on September 6, 2026 at CAMC in Charleston, WV.

Born July 17, 1945 in Flat Top, WV, he was the only son of the late Cyrus E. Harvey and Kathleen Moye Harvey.

Mr. Harvey lived all of his life in Flat Top, and helped work the farm with his parents. After he graduated from High School, he joined the Army National Guard, but was later granted an honorable discharge after an injury. He then worked for Columbia Gas Energy Group for 32 years.

After his retirement, he enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and playing with his dogs. He had many friends over the years and never met a stranger. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. There will never be another Delmar.

Survivors left to cherish his memory included his devoted wife of 43 years, Donna Harvey; a daughter Jessica Basham and husband Bobby, and their two children, Corbin Basham and Melody Basham, all of Flat Top, WV.

He is also survived by a special cousin, Jackie Matherly of Flat Top.

Per his personal request, there will be a private family service, with Elder Sam Walker officiating.
