Doris Ilene Rizzi

Doris Ilene Rizzi, age 87, of Beckley, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV.

Born on December 4, 1938 in Dunns, WV, she was the daughter of the late Don and Edith Ellison.

Mrs. Rizzi was a retired employee of  the Raleigh County Board of  Education, where she had served as a special education and bus aide at Stratton Junior High School, and Woodrow Wilson High School.

Mrs. Rizzi was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Beckley, where she enjoyed Bible Study. She also served on various committee's of  the church. Mrs. Rizzi  loved baking cakes for special events.  She had a genuine servant's heart, and devoted her time to assist anyone in need.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Rizzi; a son Michael Rizzi; a sister Carolyn Farley; a brother Tom Ellison.

Those survivors left to cherish her wonderful memory include her children, Victoria Rizzi Walker and husband Brent of West Columbia, SC, and Stephen Rizzi  and wife Georgienne "G.G." of Beckley; siblings, Don Ellison and wife Donna of Dunns, Gloria Shrewsbury  and husband Dennis of  Princeton, and Jim Ellison and wife  Nancy of Beckley; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at Memorial Baptist Church in Beckley, WV on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at noon, with Dr. James Boyd and Mr. Victor Nicholas Rizzi officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV.  Friends  may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
