Drema Kay Milam

Drema Kay Atkins Milam, age 74, of Cool Ridge, WV passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley following a sudden illness.

Born on February 18, 1950 at McAlpin, she was the daughter of the late Russell Atkins and Mae Elizabeth Stuart Atkins.

Mrs. Milam was a former employee of the Texaco Station in Daniels, WV, where she served as assistant manager, and also worked at the Shell Station in Beaver, where she served as assistant manager and also as manager.

She was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donzie Milam; a son David Milam; two grandsons, Westlee Ferguson and Logan Plemmons; siblings Frances Coughlin, Wanda Helvey, Franklin "D.D." Atkins, Glenna McGlenn, Emogene Jackson, and Rosetta Lee Atkins.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her children Donna Kay Milam and companion Keith Plemmons of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Dallas A. Milam and companion Katerra Weikle of Cool Ridge; grandchildren Maggie Mae Dean and fiancé Cam Poindexter of Mrytle Beach, SC, and David A. Milam Jr. of Beckley; great grandchildren Layla Haynes and Annalee Haynes, both of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Bronson of Pennsylvania;   a brother Russell Atkins Jr. of Goochland, Virginia, and a  sister Mary Heath of Midway, WV.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Orville  Setliff officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Saturday  at the funeral home.
