Dwain Lilly

Dwain Lilly passed away on August 4, 2024.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marlene. His son Brian, wife Cheryl of Knoxville TN and his daughter, Suzan of Beckley. Granddaughters Amie, husband Dereck, and Rayne, husband Lynn also from TN and great-granddaughters Sophia, Navy and Abby Belle.  His sister-in-law, Mickey Lilly of Holt, MI and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Cosby Lilly of Crab Orchard, brothers Edgar, Mason, Amos and Albert, sisters Hallie and Nora. He was the last survivor of his immediate family.

The family wishes to thank family friends Beth and Marsha for their support and care.  Also, appreciation for his caregiver Mary, staff of Bowers Hospice House and VA Community Care.

Dwain worked at Beckley Newspapers for 44 years.  He served on several community boards and organizations. He spent his life in service to others and family.  He continually tried to 'treat people the same way you want them to treat you' as per Mathew 7:12.

Funeral services will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 10 AM until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Family visitation will be from 9 AM until 10 AM.
